Last year, a mortgage company approached an SEO agency to build a big educational website with topics like saving for a house or finding a real estate agent.

The half-million-dollar project would have been great for the agency’s bottom line. However, the web plan ignored the future of search, so the agency declined, says Dale Bertrand,  founder and CEO of Fire&Spark.

The mortgage company strategy didn’t account for consumers’ changing search behavior. In 2025, they prefer AI-delivered results, whether in the form of Google results pages’ AI overviews or results from tools like ChatGPT and Gemini.

Learn what Dale recommended instead and why you need to think differently about your brand’s SEO strategy in this video (above) of his Content Marketing World presentation, SEO for Revenue: Grow Your Business, Not Just Your Content Rankings.
